- WATERPROOF

These skylights don’t leak!! The glass is positioned ¼” away from adjacent steel. A liquid
rubber compound is pumped into this gap to form a cast in place gasket which not only
conforms perfectly to the shapes but bonds tenaciously to the glass and the mounting surface
making a very effective seal. Other systems use dry preformed gaskets which do not perform as
well in terms of fit and do not bond to the skylight parts at all.

- CORROSION PROTECTION

We find that most of our customers are best served by using steel for the framing elements
Of their skylights. The steel is epoxy coated to provide durable corrosion resistance. Our  
assembly system uses welds at all joints. This produces stiffness superior to box tube
aluminum construction with minimal sight line (framing member) thickness. Alternate  
materials such as stainless steel can give these skylights durability on near geological time
scales.

- DESIGN FLEXIBILITY AND RHINO 3D VISUALIZATION 

Our technique uses structural glazing adhesives – the glass can be mounted directly to any
structural cross section from a 12” “I” beam to a 2” structural “T”. The sky is the limit
on design choices. C&R Civic uses Rhino 3d engineering software to provide shop drawings.
Rhino allows a virtual walk - through of the design before construction. This enables all
parties to quickly and easily visualize the project. Below is a design drawing for one of our
